It was another exciting day for both of us when we received our second "wedding gift" today - a story from a wonderful friend who would like to remain anonymous. Thanks to her generosity, a cat at the Regina Humane Society has had their adoption sponsored. We were very touched by this story and hope Pocahontas gets a forever home soon. Thank you so much!
Act of Kindness story submitted by "anonymous":
My childhood friend, Janice, is in the Pasqua Hospital's Palliative Care ward. I visited her daily during the month of February before returning home to Ontario. I sadly won't see her again. She and I had many chats covering a lot of topics.
We always discuss animals as we share a passion for the those in our lives, particularly cats. I told her that while in Regina, I was lucky to participate in a private tour of the Humane Society. I met a number of long term, older cat residents. We both said how lovely it would be to adopt one. Neither of us could. I told her that in her honour I would call the Humane Society before I left and make a donation so that one little kitty will have a free adoption to someone/family who will provide her a forever home. I did so.
With love to you both. xoxo
