It was an even more exciting evening tonight when we received a second "wedding gift" of the day - a story from Jeremy's mother, Marlene Mohr, about how she organized a special lunch for her co-workers in celebration of Valentine's Day. We loved how it brought back memories of the special celebrations she used to organize when her boys were young. Thank you Marlene for always being so creative and for making every holiday memorable and special for everyone. What a wonderful story. Thank you for sharing!
Act of Kindness story submitted by Marlene Mohr:
February 14th is a day of love. When discussing Valentine's Day with staff at my workplace, most didn't celebrate in any way, so I decided to "share the love" with them. I decorated the table with red disposable paper plates and serviettes; a centerpiece of a heart shaped box of turtle chocolates and dishes of red cinnamon hearts. I ordered piping hot pizza for lunch. Drinks were pink cream soda, cola (cause the bottle had red on it) and dessert was heart shaped cookies and cake. An email was sent inter-office asking everyone to join me for a Valentine Luncheon. Lots of laughter and fellowship. The most exciting thing was the it got "paid forward" as in the next few days, other staff brought items to share as well. This brings back memories of when Jeremy and his brother were small as we used to celebrate holidays by color coordinating our dinner times. I remember heart shaped hamburgers, red jello dessert, etc. "Share the Love!"
